The name of my series is going to be the creators. I'm naming it this because all of my pieces are people who have created a movie series that I like. The first piece I made was Michael Crichton and he is the writer of Jurassic Park and the lost world novels. The second piece is George Lucas and he is the director of Star Wars. My final and favorite piece is Stan Lee the creator of over one hundred of Marvel comic superheroes. I'm going to name the pieces The Author, The Director and The Creator, or Crichton, Lucas and Stan.
For my series, I made three paintings of people who made the movies I love. I decided to do these paintings because recently I tried to create a portrait and I thought it turned out okay, so I wanted to improve that skill. In order to improve I needed to practice and I felt like my portraits got progressively better as I went through them. I had also just finished reading Michael Crichton's novel, Jurassic Park. and I think it is the best book I've ever read. And this was another reason I decided to paint these people because their work is the inspiration for a majority of my work.
I started this project by getting photos of everyone that I was planning on painting. After I got the photos I put it into Prisma and added filters. Then I projected the photos and drew them on my canvas. After the drawing was on I added an underpainting then built up the layers. Starting with the background and moving forwards. I did these same steps for all three of my paintings.
If I got to do this project again I know I would redo my painting of Michael Crichton as it is my weakest painting. And I might add their names on the paintings in the front of their logos.
Personal Project Proposal My personal project will focus on paintings, specifically paintings of landscapes that match photography I’ve done in the past. The title of my project will be Capturing Nature . I decided to focus on this medium because I feel that it's something I can develop in, and continue to improve upon. Additionally, I enjoy painting and love seeing a peace come together.
I plan to create three to three acrylic paintings, each around in by in. I will begin by painting an undercoat, then building up layer by layer until i get my finished peice. The process will be long, but the reward is worth it.
For the display, I plan to hang my canvases by wire on a wall, but if there isn’t any space, or there aren’t walls avalible, I could use an easel. There are(n’t?) any special requirements.
I hope that my painting skills will be improved, and that I’ll be able to develop as an artist through this art project, I want my art to inspire people through nature . please take my art into consideration.

My photography shows the beauty of nature- when you miss the small things in life, you miss the beauty of life as well. Mother Nature offers me the most inspiration. I enjoy finding the beauty, and often, when I do, I photograph them. These images are stunning on their own, but I also find ways to use them in making my physical art, to inspire me. My pieces in this show are meant to explore and share the beauty of nature through the beauty of art.
The physical art in this show, "Dandelion", was made with oil pastels. Like many other of my pieces, I was inspired by a photo I shot. I put this image in an app called Prisma, which inspired me further.
I am in the Visual Arts and Media Academy this year. I love this opportunity, because we are learning new art techniques and building up my skill in Art, specifically Photography, Photoshop, painting, pastels, and many other mediums. But art isn't the only thing I am improving upon, I've also been working on my reading and writing.
